\"\"<\/a>All of us go through periods when everything seems to go wrong. After high expectations, let’s just say – August was not my best month.<\/p>\n

At the end of last month\u2019s blog, I mentioned that I was planing to tell you about my book launch on a cruise onboard the same cruise ship that Passage to Greenland<\/em> was set. Sadly, we were all packed and ready when on the day before we were due to sail, our cruise was cancelled.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>As you can imagine, I was devastated. Apart from the loss of the launch event, I\u2019d spent six weeks preparing my lectures on a literary journey of the British Isles. However, all was not completely lost. The wonderful Katie has booked me on a replacement cruise in November and though it\u2019s off to a different destination \u2013 the Canary Islands \u2013 she has said I can give the same lectures and sell my book. The lectures won\u2019t go to waste and though it won\u2019t exactly be a launch, a book signing is certainly the next best thing.<\/p>\n

Rather than dwelling on my disappointment, I decided to throw myself into my next project. Though I\u2019m planning the next book in my head (another Aunt Jessica and Harry mystery set on a journey to Egypt), I decided it was high time I got down to some serious marketing before I became totally absorbed in writing the next novel. Before investing in any promotion, it was time to update all my novels. Adding the latest book to the books page was the easy part. However, the first Fiona Mason Mystery was written over fifteen years ago and times have moved on considerably since then, especially in the world of technology. There are now seven books in the series, but Fiona\u2019s tours are only a few months apart, so I decided a few tweaks were necessary.<\/p>\n

Updating ebooks on Amazon is a relatively easy task, but print books are a different matter. To say I had problems reloading the revised paperbacks is something of an understatement. I won\u2019t bore you with a long list of all my woes, but let\u2019s just say problems with my PC didn\u2019t make things any easier. Fingers crossed; I now have things sorted but I will NOT be updating my paperbacks in the future!<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>I\u2019m determined to end the month on a positive note, so on with the next project! Not sure what I\u2019m going to call the new book yet. How about, Curse of the Pharaoh<\/em>?<\/p>\n

Perhaps not. Great title, but I’ve just discovered it’s been used before – many times – including by one of my favourite authors, Elizabeth Peters. Oh well! Back to the drawing board.<\/p>\n
