Life in lockdown appears to be affecting people\nin one of two ways \u2013 either they are bored silly and can\u2019t wait to be\n\u2018released\u2019 or frantically busy. The reality is probably that it\u2019s the people at\neither end of the spectrum who shout loudest to vent their frustrations. Those\nwho\u2019ve learnt to adjust have just got with it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I\u2019m definitely in the later camp when it comes\nto feeling overwhelmed by all I have to do (even though I\u2019m the one calling the\nshots) and wondering how I\u2019m ever going to find time to return to my normal\nmorning\u2019s exercise classes. The most frustrating thing is that I\u2019m still not\nwriting!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I finally managed to get the manuscript of Undercover Geisha<\/em> off to a new publisher. Now it\u2019s the waiting game. In case they wanted to look at the first Aunt Jessica Novel, I decided to re-edit it and to create a paperback. Even after all the copyediting and proofing done on the book before it was published, I manged to find missing words and typos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Most of this month has been taken up with re-editing my other mystery series. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I began by designing a new set of covers for all the Fiona Mason novels. (If you click onto my Books \u2013 Fiona Mason Mysteries page to the left on the header, you can see all six.) Do let me know what you think. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The first two in the series \u2013 Blood on the Bulb Fields<\/em> and Blood in the Wine<\/em> \u2013 were\noriginally published as paperbacks back in 2007 and 2008. They have long been\nout of print. I decided it was time to produce paperbacks of all my novels, but\nfirst each book would have to be re-edited. It\u2019s been a long process. It is\nsurprising how technology has moved on in that time.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

To date, the first four are now complete and available as paperbacks. I\u2019ve made a start on Book 5 \u2013 Blood Across the Divide \u2013 <\/em>which I\u2019d hoped to complete by the end of the month, but other things took over. \u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now that June is here and we\u2019re almost half-way\nthrough the year, I\u2019ve decided to take a break from working on the last two\nnovels for a couple of weeks. I\u2019m beginning to wonder if all this time spent\nre-editing isn\u2019t my form of displacement activity \u2013 any excuse not to settle\ndown and get back to work on the latest novel in progress. I can\u2019t say that\nI\u2019ve ever suffered from the dreaded Writers Block \u2013 I\u2019m not short of ideas \u2013\nbut I am a procrastinator. I find it hard to gear myself up each day to sit at the\nkeyboard and be creative. For that reason, I\u2019m determined that June will be a\nwriting month. Once I\u2019m back in the flow, I might allow myself a couple of\nafternoons a week to return to books 5 and 6.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
