Peter Montgomery-Jones needs to track down the plans of a guidance missile system before they fall into the hands of revolutionary Uzbek terrorists.<\/p>\n

She thinks he is pompous and patronizing; he thinks she is interfering and impetuous but if either is to achieve their goal, they need to work together<\/p>\n

The second in the series. A cozy whodunnit with plenty of edge.<\/p>\n

\u2018Once again, we meet up with Fiona Mason, friendly driver Winston and mysterious security professional Peter Montgomery-Jones. The tour details are as well-researched as in Judith’s other books and there are plenty of red herrings. I was convinced I’d spotted the baddie from early on – but I was wrong; the misdirection was very well handled. Another enthralling read.\u2019 \u2013 Elizabeth Ducie author of the Susan Jones medical mystery series<\/em><\/p>\n

\u2018Really enjoyed the twist and turns of this book also the vivid descriptions of the country its set in. If you love Agatha Christie, you will love this.\u2019<\/p>\n

\u2018Having already established Fiona Mason as a formidable read in the first of the \u201cBlood\u2026\u201d series, she wastes no time in throwing us into the next superb mystery. I really liked book 1, but I preferred this one as I found that she really upped her game.
\nThis time she has to work with a man who she essentially doesn\u2019t like to get to the bottom of a stabbing on her latest tour. That\u2019s no mean feat considering the massive cast list on display here.\u2019<\/p>\n

\u2018There\u2019s no doubt that Miss Cranswick can weave a murder mystery. What she also does though is engage you with so many characters, with so many balls in the air, that another writer might not be able to pull it off. She also seems well travelled because each of her locations is fabulously detailed. In fact, so engaging is Fiona Mason that I did wonder if the author herself had been a little bit of an amateur sleuth. – Billy McLaughlin \u2013 author of the DI Phil Morris Mysteries<\/em><\/p>\n

\u2018I am really enjoying this series. Even though this book is a “cozy mystery,” the plot is complex and intriguing. I love the added bonus of the travel information. This installment takes place in Germany. I found the history of the castles and the information on Germany wines as interesting as the mystery itself. Of course, it is a bit of a stretch for major crimes to keep taking place among a group of tourists, but I think it is one of the best “settings” for a cozy mystery series that I’ve run across. At least these are taking place in various countries and for various reasons versus the series that take place all in the same small town or coffee shop. I also very much appreciate the advanced vocabulary. So many modern books rely on slang and vulgarity to try and get their point across. My mother, who is in her 70s, is also enjoying this series a lot. If you are looking for an intelligent cozy mystery series, I suggest you try these!\u2019<\/p>\n
